Miranda Garner

Gouache Paintings of Devon and the South Hams

Miranda Garner grew up in a small seaside town in Kent where she developed her drawing and painting skills, winning her a scholarship at Dartington College of Arts, Totnes. Here Miranda Garner developed her individual style as a landscape painter incorporating patterns in a distinct, graphical style. From this time onwards Miranda Garner became a full time painter and continues to live in the historic market town of Totnes, in the rural South West of England in Devon.

After completing her degree, Miranda was invited as a guest to the Catalonian fishing village of Cadaques in Costa Brava, Northern Spain. During this time she associated with artists such as David Martin, Bob Venosa, Richard Hamilton, Dieter Roth, Salvadore Dali and the great, great grand-daughter of Henri Matisse, Catherine Mannier. Miranda Garner spent many Summers in Spain whilst continuing to paint in Devon, where she continues to sell her beloved devon landscape prints, Devon coast prints and cards both locally and internationally.

Miranda Garners Devon landscape and Devon Coast prints are very popular and collectable. We have visitors who collect her landscape prints and local Totnes and Devon street scenes, coastal views and landscapes. People like to send cards of local views and frequented Devon places as a reminder of our beloved landscape reflected in Miranda’s gouache paintings.
