Lou Griffiths is an artist and designer/maker working from her Devonain studio shed in South Devon. Lou Griffiths works with sustainable and native wood, creating contemporary bespoke one-off woode art pieces and functional products in wood. Lou’s Griffith’s wood burnt illustrative art is nature inspired, she is self-taught in the field of pyrography.
Lou Griffiths states:
“My handcrafted pieces have a story to tell whether it be an offcut from a local boat builder to a storm fallen oak in the farmer's field. I have respect for my materials and let the wood guide me to form the perfect combination of art and function. From wall art to grazing platters, large oak door blocks, and chopping boards through to candle holders amongst other things. Therefore ‘Perfectly Imperfect' is my motto.”
People love her inspired, handcrafted illustrations of animals, lighthouses and sea creatures on beautifully selected woods, some appropriately matched for each burnt drawing. Lou Giffiths wood art products are lovely to be admired and a pleasure to be seen in the bathroom, kitchen, living room or bedroom.
