Helen Harrison
Helen studied Art and Design at Loughborough College of Art, specialising in ceramics and gaining a B.A. Honours. Her studies continued at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1995 with a Degree of Master of Arts.
Living and working in Devon Helen makes hand thrown homeware pieces, which can be used and enjoyed everyday. Her forms are hand-thrown on a potters’ wheel in porcelain and the surfaces treated with layered oxides, decals, slips and imprints to create a landscape effect.
Each piece is finished with clear and coloured food-safe glazes, creating pieces which can be used and enjoyed everyday.
People love Helen’s collectable, bright and pretty coloured and decorated porcelain homeware from uniquely hand painted, patterned lights, tealight holders, mugs, cups, jugs, bowls and lidded pots. Her work is a beautiful highlight for any home and kitchen. They love the traditionally themed transfer decorations on the porcelain juxtaposing with the contemporary, bright colours. The cleverly manipulated forms also create extra gripping points for each vessel, each feeling naturally created for your comfort.
