Large feather sculptural, glass bowl – Aurora

A large handblown “Aurora Feather” bowl by Colin Hawkins, featuring a fluid, asymmetrical form and intricate feathered patterns worked within the glass. Swirling layers of warm sunset oranges blend with cool purples, blues and soft whites, creating a luminous, ever-changing surface.

The “aurora” colour palette is especially vivid—blending:

• warm sunset tones (amber, burnt orange, deep red),
• cooler flashes of violet, blue, and smoky grey,
• and soft milky whites that diffuse the colours.

These hues are layered in a feathered style within the glass rather than painted on, giving the piece a luminous, almost glowing quality as light passes through it. The bowl has a wide, asymmetrical, open form that feels almost fluid—its rim gently undulates rather than forming a perfect circle, giving it an organic, vessel-like presence. The body tapers down into a soft, rounded base, creating a sense of movement, as if the glass has been caught mid-flow. It’s a unique, decorative vessel aswell as a sculptural, glass artwork
