Remon Jephcott

Since graduating Remon Jephcott has been a practising ceramicist and has exhibited her work widely throughout the UK. Based in Truro, Cornwall, her love for the West Country is pivotal to her creative practice in ceramics.

Her interest in ceramics began when she first witnessed the opening of a kiln. Amazed by how clay and glaze are transformed by fire, she was inspired to experiment with colour and surface decoration on her ceramic jewellery, producing decorative ceramic pendants and ceramic earrings.

Remon creates her ceramic, jewellery pieces with a combination of slip-casting and hand-build techniques. She uses earthenware clay and a range of kiln firings including glaze, decal and lustre. The various firings create the layered effects she uses in her ceramic fruit pieces together with the addition of silver, glass and textiles adding further interest in the final ceramic work.

People love Remon Jephcott’s contemporary ceramic jewellery including: ceramic heart earrings set on silver findings, her ceramic ball and acorn pendants have a modern vintage style, providing a contemporary enhancement to clothing with a nod to the traditional.
