New Beginnings
This oil painting by artist Louise Kelly portrays a vivid Devon sunrise bursting with colour and atmosphere. The sky dominates the composition, unfolding in sweeping layers of light. Near the horizon, intense bands of orange, gold, and soft pink announce the rising sun, gradually shifting upward into cooler tones of turquoise and pale green before meeting the dramatic, moody greys and blues of the early-morning clouds.
A faint track or pathway runs diagonally into the scene, guiding the viewer’s gaze toward the horizon and creating a feeling of distance, freedom and openness.
The overall mood is uplifting yet tranquil—an evocative moment of quiet just as the day begins, aptly entitle ‘New Beginnings.’
Dimensions including the white frame are: 48.5cm x 34cm
