I have lived a thousand storms’ limited edition, unframed lino cut print

This intricate, limited edition lino cut tree print by Richard Shimell features a beautifully spreading, mature oak tree that the artist often passes by. He claims “It’s unusually wide and has reached the point in its life where its bottom limbs are almost touching the ground. I love its shape. It’s clearly hundreds of years old.” Oak trees are a symbol of strength, endurance, ower and ancient wisdom. Richard Shimell states he entitled this print “I’ve Lived a Thousand Storms because I see the tree as a survivor. In winter storms howl up or down the valley, but none have felled it yet.” The subtle background ombre of orange, blue and grey with a crescent moon imply dusk on this peaceful Devon scene.
